The RTS is a 4 km shuttle system between Johor Bahru in Malaysia and Woodlands in Singapore. Conceived in 2010 and announced in 2011, the RTS serves as a convenient and cost-effective shuttle system integrated with both public transport systems on both sides of the border.
The first phase of the RTS project was a joint engineering study that was conducted by a consortium consisting of Aecom Perunding Sdn. Bhd., Aecom Singapore Pte. Ltd. and SA Architects Sdn. Bhd., and was completed in 2013. Phase Two of the project began at the end of 2014.
